Behind Moongata

I'm Daniela  ✧  yoga instructor, creative and founder of Moongata Collective.

Yoga entered my life quietly over six years ago, without expectations, at a time when I was searching for something deeper, though I didn’t yet know what that was. It became a space where I began to realise how disconnected I had been; from my body, from my surroundings, and from myself. What started as personal exploration gradually became a transformative practice that brought clarity and meaning into my life.

As my practice deepened, I chose to formally dedicate myself to its study. I spent 2.5 years completing a 1500-hour Diploma of Yoga Teaching at Shanti Yoga on the Gold Coast, Australia. That training gave structure and philosophical depth to what I had already been experiencing personally; an understanding that we are not only physical bodies, but also energetic and subtle beings. That there is something greater moving through us, and that our human experience is part of a much larger consciousness.

Over time, I realised that my purpose was intrinsically connected to sharing these tools. Moongata was born from that realisation.

With a background in photography and graphic design, creativity has always shaped how I see the world. Eventually, I recognised that the movement of the body, the rhythm of breath, and the presence of thought are forms of art as well.

Through Moongata, I wanted to create something grounding, intentional, and genuinely human; with an elevated sensory experience woven into the practice itself. High-quality products, thoughtful design, calming aesthetics, and yoga classes that move beyond conventional standards.

I don’t believe in the idea of a “perfect yogi.” Yoga is a deeply important part of my life, but it doesn’t define or limit who I am. I’m constantly evolving, learning, and growing; and my teaching reflects that honesty.

The name Moongata comes from the Swedish word mångata, describing the reflection of moonlight across water. To me, it symbolises how truth remains constant, like the moon; yet the way we perceive it changes depending on the stillness of the mind, like water.

My intention is simple: to elevate and support your practice as you return to your body and breath; and to remind you of the strength and awareness that already live within you.

I would love to share that space with you.
